Check4MySQLPHP – a FREE Script from Magicaddons

Item posted Monday November 19th, 2012

We have often seen posts on forums where people are having difficulty establishing the configuration of there hosting environment and we thought that we could help. Business is not always about making money and sometimes it's good to give so we decided to create a standalone easy to us FREE script that can be downloaded and used as often as you wish on whichever sites you wish.

If the following sounds familiar simply click the Check4MySQLPHP link to the left of this blog read about and download your own copy of the script .

Have you ever wanted an easy way to check if you have MySQL and PHP installed and if so what versions?

If you can't get something to work, and think it might be because you have the wrong version of MySQL or PHP there is a simple way to check, or if you simply want to verify that you have MySQL and PHP in your hosting environment.

Check4MySQLPHP is an easy to use Script which:

Checks if you have MySQL and PHP installed and accessible. If they are not, an appropriate error message will be output.

Checks if MySQL and PHP are available it shows you what versions are installed.

It also provides a link to phpinfo to enable you to view full details of your php configuration

A Visitors / Guest Book module is born

Item posted Wednesday October 10th, 2012

We have been approached in the past by customers who have businesses which have a traditional Visitors Book or Guest Book for their clients to leave comments, but while these are of great interest to those reading them the problem is that they can not be read until a visitor / guest arrives.

Our customers realised that the comments left by past customers were a valuable resource and may help to increase bookings and enhance their website by enabling others to read past guests comments before booking.

They found that the traditional visitor guest book where comments could be left worked well for their business and created an intimacy between the proprietors and the guests and they didn't want the administrative overhead of managing an online system where visitors could leave comments after leaving, so to accommodate this we have created the Magicaddons Visitor Book Module and to read more about it simply click on the navigation link to the left of this blog.

If you have the requirement for a module that has not yet been developed please contact us with your ideas and we will see if we can assist you.

We pushed the button

Item posted Wednesday August 1st, 2012

At Inspiraweb Ltd its business as usual catering for the needs of our web design clients but today is a special day in the calendar.

Today is the day when, after months of effort, long nights and lost weekends we finally reached the point where the defined project requirements had been achieved and the GO LIVE button was pushed.

We have an online e-Commerce website http://www.magicaddons.com/ where you can view and purchase Magicaddon Modules, we have a Demo website in support of sales and we are letting the world know about this new software and that we are open for business.

Getting ready for the product launch

Item posted Monday July 16th, 2012

We are nearing the point of going live.

All of the thought and hard work is coming together and the result is better than we could of hoped for at the start of the project.

Here's a preview of the main website magicaddons.com

magicaddons.com

On the site you will be able to find out about us, read FAQs and Case Studies and of course view the modules that are available to purchase.

Keep watching as the Launch Date will be announced soon and there will also be announcements in the press and elsewhere online.

Testing Testing Testing

Item posted Thursday June 14th, 2012

Testing Testing Testing, you can never do enough testing.

If we were a well known software company we would probably package the modules, sell them then wait for bug reports, we would then fix them, do minimal testing, create some new bugs, sell the resulting software as an upgrade version and wait for the whole cycle to repeat itself.

Well we are not so have had to do testing, testing and more testing, in fact we are still testing as I type.

Will have to go now and give a hand with the testing, but remember if we have missed anything please let us know :-)

We really want to support our customers

Item posted Sunday June 3rd, 2012

We have been discussing the project and all here agree that Happy Customers are at the heart of this project and we want to be seen as practicing what we preach, so customers should be:

  • Happy with the way that we do business
  • Happy that the modules do what they say on the tin
  • Happy that the modules are what they want for their web presence

What we don't want is people buying something that they don't want. We therefore plan on doing as much as we can to ensure that when purchasing a module customers will have had every opportunity to check that it is suitable for requirements.

We have already gone some way to doing this by providing the FREE to download pre-installer, creating the Magicaddons.com website which is packed with information, developed an easy to use installer and produced an installer guide.

OK you may think that's enough but we really do want Happy Customers so have decided to develop a Demo Site for the modules.

Each user will have their own unique demo version of a module, hosted by us and seeded with content to give it context. A user can after logging in add/edit and delete content as they wish then view it in a web page that is representative of how it will look on their website.

A user will be able to logout and in as they wish and can even add further modules to their demo environment.

We just hope that this has all been worthwhile and results in Happy Customers.

All change

Item posted Friday May 11th, 2012

Its all change

Don't worry the work on the modules continues, but the marketing has taken another course and we have now decided that we need a brand rather than a product name.

The products are still the individual modules:

  • Case studies module
  • Events module
  • Document Library module
  • FAQs module
  • Image Gallery module
  • News module
  • Simple Blog module
  • Testimonials module
  • Useful Links module
  • YouTube modules

The brand however is no longer phpwebmodules it is now:

Magicaddons

So we are now entering into a whole branding exercise including further development of the e-commerce website which is to be magicaddons.com

We even have a new logomagicaddons logo, do you like it?
