How Modules Work

A Magicaddons module has two parts - a part which is embedded into your website and which displays the content seen by your visitors, and a stand-alone administration part which allows you to manage and style that content.

Using Magicaddons you can not only create structured content, but also style that content to match the website within which it will be displayed.

In Your Website

The screenshot above is of the Case Studies page of this very website, showing the area which has been generated by the Magicaddons Case Studies module. The output has been styled in such a way as to fit within the overall page, with the module adopting both the colour and the rounded-box effect.

Incorporating a module into your website is easy, requiring only that you define a DOCTYPE and add two lines of php to your page:.

Firstly, add the following line in the html head of your page:

<?php include "{path to module}/head_include.php"; ?>

This will cause references to the module's css stylesheets to be introduced.

Secondly, add the following line at the point where you want the module content to appear:

<?php include "{path to module}/case_studies.php"; ?>

The module content will now appear in your page.

Module Administration

The Magicaddons administration pages are powerful yet easy to use, allowing you to customise many aspects of your module's content and appearance. All content is stored in a MySQL database and in many of the modules you can upload documents, images and external links and attach them to your items.

To see how easy it is, just click the demo button on any module product page.

Installing a module

All modules come with an installer which will guide you through the installation process, creating database tables for you and automatically setting the required configuration variables. All you need to do is unzip your module, upload it to your web server, and run the installer.

We even provide a detailed step by step User Installation Guide written in Plain English to make the process as simple as possible for you.
